BASIC SCAFFOLDING (LEVEL 1)
The knowledge and skills required to effectively execute the construction, design, and erect/dismantle of basic scaffolding systems in a systematic and safe manner.
Curriculum
11 Lesson
- Assembly and operate various types of scaffolding from individual components and pre-fabricated assemblies. Transport and arrange material loads of up to 500kg onto the working platform of the scaffolding.
- Utilize various types of ropes, cables, hooks, and knots.
- Operate winches and pulleys effectively.
- Adhere to safety regulations and prescribed safety limits.
- Assemble scaffolding for access, working platforms, but not necessarily all associated synchronous work. Assemble scaffolding for formwork, falsework, and access, to facilitate material handling on the working platform.
- Construct scaffolding with a base as a falsework support and a top as a wall plate, including those with outrigger supports.
- Assemble inclined ladders for personnel and materials.
- Install safety nets to prevent falls, dust containment nets around scaffolding, and operate sloping working platforms for catching falling objects.
- Have a fundamental knowledge of tubes, couplers, and connections, including intermediate connections for gate scaffolding.
- Erect suspended scaffolding on tube and coupler, beam, rope, or chain.
- Operate suspended scaffolding with horizontal mobility and adjustable height.
