Equip the delegate with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to perform the role of Emergency Response Team Member safely and effectively.

Delegate Pre-requisites

A valid BOSIET/TBOSIET or FOET/TFOET Certificate.

Curriculum

17 lesson/2 day
  1. Knowledge of Offshore Fire/Emergency response arrangements
  2. Preparing to enter the incident area
  3. Gaining access to the incident area
  4. Using best working practices and procedures
  5. Locating missing personnel and casualty handling
  6. On scene first aid procedures
  7. Selecting and using the correct portable firefighting equipment including foam wheeled unit
  8. Extinguishing live fires (fuel in-depth/troughs/pressure fires)
  9. Conducting and controlling BA operations
  10. Maintaining communications
  11. Effective execution of emergency response tasks.
  12. Correct donning and use of breathing apparatus (BA) (all delegates to practice donning and using BA).
  13. Effective Search and rescue (SAR) principles and techniques –locating, extracting and handling missing personnel and casualties following a helicopter incident on the helideck.
  14. Appropriate response to non-firefighting operations during incident.
  15. Effective use of firefighting fixed, portable and mobile systems, including fixed fire monitors, dry chemical and Co2 fire extinguishment and control media
  16. Correct casualty handling techniques.
  17. Hose-running techniques and associated hazards Note: All practical exercises require delegates to be fully equipped with firefighting Personal Protective Equipment.
